Cookie Policy
Last updated 26 September 2026
The cookies and similar technologies Thyme en Place uses, and why.
- We use one cookie only: the one that keeps you signed in.
- No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through.
- This page itself does not set any cookies.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Browsers also offer "local storage", which works in a similar way. Both let a site remember things between page views, such as the fact that you are signed in.
What we use
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
Keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. It holds a random reference, not your details. It is set when you visit the home page, the sign-in or sign-up pages, a shared or email-confirmation link, or use the site while signed in. | Up to a year while you are active, or until you log out | Strictly necessary |
recipebook-shopping-v2-… (local storage) |
Remembers which items you have ticked off on a private shopping list, one entry per menu. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. Lists you have shared keep their ticks on our server instead, so the people you share with can see them. | Until you clear your browser's site data | Strictly necessary for the feature you asked for |
What we do not use
We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking or social media cookies, and we do not build a profile of what you look at.
Other companies' cookies and requests
- Google Fonts. Our pages load their typefaces from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details when it does. We do not set cookies for this.
- Sign in with Google. If you choose this, you are taken to Google's own pages, which use Google's cookies under Google's own policies.
- Pictures from other sites. Some recipe photos are loaded straight from the website they were imported from. That website may see your request and could set its own cookies. We do not control them.
Do you need to agree to anything?
The cookie and the browser storage above are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for (staying signed in, and remembering your ticks on a shopping list), so the law does not require us to ask for your consent first. Your other choices, such as which supermarket you prefer for price estimates, are saved on your account rather than in a cookie. If we ever add cookies that do need consent, we will ask you before setting them and update this page.
Managing cookies
You can delete cookies and site data, or block them, in your browser's settings. If you block or delete the PHPSESSID cookie you will be signed out and will not be able to sign in. Clearing local storage removes your ticks on private shopping lists. How to do this depends on your browser, and its help pages explain it.
Changes to this policy
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this page and the date at the top.
